Changing jobs should be made more simple with increased flexibility, to generate employment for youth, labour minister Giuliano Poletti said Friday.
“If turnover is lacking, there are fewer opportunities for all,” he told reporters on the fringes of a conference in Modena.
“We have a huge public debt, the result of mistaken choices made in the past including on the pension front,” he added.
Poletti said that a government debate on increasing pension flexibility may help in this regard.
“If someone loses his job and is close to retirement and can’t obtain the requirements to retire, this is a social problem that is much more important than people who have jobs and must stay in them for another year”.
