The pacifist mayor of Messina, Renato Accorinti, made an anti-war statement for the third year in a row during aWWI memorial ceremony in Sicily yesterday (4 November).
Accorinti, along with a group of peace protesters, stood among those taking part in the military parade displaying rainbow flags emblazoned with pacifist messages.
Having become an anti-war activist long before he was elected, the mayor of Sicily’s 3rd largest city continues to lead multiple civil rights campaigns.
