Italy’s unemployment rate was steady at 12.4% in May, the same as the previous month, Istat said on Tuesday. The national statistics agency said that the number of unemployed people had fallen by 59,000 (1.8%) in 12 months, while the proportion of jobless people in relation to the whole working population was down by 0.2 of a percentage point with respect to the same time last year.
